The aim of our crop consulting is to develop individual and sustainable strategies in the field together with the farmers. We do not see ourselves purely as a crop protection consultancy, but represent a holistic consultancy approach. We support farmers during the growing season in all matters relating to upcoming crop protection and fertilization measures, but also address long-term issues such as mechanization or crop rotation planning. Cultivation systems will change in the future, whether due to reduced fertilization levels or the loss of importance of chemical crop protection. Individual solutions will come into focus more than ever.

During vegetation, we work with growers to assess the vegetative and generative development of their crops in the field. At the same time, we record the nutritional and disease status and derive the upcoming measures from this. The on-site consultation takes place on the farms as individual or group consultation (approx. 4–6 farms) and comprises 5–6 consultation appointments during the main vegetation period in spring. The time interval of 3–4 weeks between the appointments ensures continuous production-related advice. Prior to sowing, many farms hold a sowing planning meeting to discuss basic topics such as crop rotation, variety selection, basic fertilization and soil tillage. In the following fall, there are usually 2–3 on-site appointments to establish manageable stands for the spring.

Direct consulting is supported by our information system. This is composed of the following areas:

• continuous crop recommendations via the app „Airfarm“ during the growing season
• Hanse-Agro Journal, which is published twice a year with basic information and advice for the upcoming season
• information events, field days and seminars
